The mate to the Imperial Dragon, the Imperial Phoenix was long associated with the Empress of China. This mythical bird also symbolized life eternal, as the Phoenix was thought to be able to recreate itself. The stitch count is 160 x 210 stitches, also 16 x 191/2 when worked on 14 Aida.  Leaflet is 17 x 22 inches, folded to 8 1/2 x 11 inches.
